FIBO 2013 – New City, New Flavors, New OhYeah! Experience!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:36 pm

By Amanda Adams, Fitness Model and OhYeah! Athlete

I still can’t stop smiling about the week I just had in Cologne, Germany with OhYeah! Nutrition for the 2013 FIBO Show! This was my second year attending this show and thought I’d be prepared for the busy 4 day expo ahead. I was shocked with how much busier this year was in a new city! On Saturday, the entire event reached about 1 MILLION visitors. If you have ever attended the Arnold Classic, you know how busy that show is. The Arnold consists of 1 or 2 Halls of booths and companies. The FIBO consists of 9 Halls! Can you even imagine? Check out this video to give you a better understanding of how BUSY it actually was!

When we arrived on Tuesday we were able to explore Cologne and visit one of the worlds biggest Cathedrals and the famous “Lock of Love” Bridge! Walking around the city was so much fun and a moment I will never forget.

The days of the expo were non-stop!  Selling boxes of bars, answering questions on the products and taking pictures with OhYeah! fans was a blast! I have to be honest, Germany has the best OhYeah! fans around. They truly love the taste of the bars and couldn’t get enough! The fans got to sample our new bar flavor, Peanut Butter Crunch, our new Trail Mix Bars and our new Total Protein System powder flavors all 4 days! Let’s just say…they were a HUGE hit!

Not only was it awesome to work with a company each day that people truly love, I was also thankful to share the experience with my sister, Aimee Adams. This was her first international trip ever!

“Words cannot express how extremely thankful and blessed I am to have been asked to work the FIBO with not only the best nutrition company, but to be able to work an event in GERMANY! FIBO was 9x busier than the Arnold and I loved every minute of it. Not only did I get to experience my first international trip, I also go to celebrate my 24th birthday there! I was overwhelmed with how happy everyone was when they found out it was my special day. It’s known over there to greet someone with the warmest hug, 2 or 3 kisses on your cheek and well wishes for anyone’s birthday! We definitely don’t do that over here in the states. I think we should though! Ha! Overall, the experience with OhYeah! was more than I could have ever imagined!” –Aimee Adams

I also got the pleasure of working with new OhYeah! girl, IFBB Pro Tanja Canc from Slovenia. Tanja is one of the hardest working girls I have ever met. Not only did she have the best attitude each day, she taught all of us so much about the culture over there and was able to communicate better with the customers that didn’t speak English. Hey, I’m learning ;)

Overall, the entire week couldn’t of been more of a success! We were able to tour the city, meet some amazing OhYeah! fans, celebrate my sisters birthday in an amazing city, learn more of the culture, try new foods and most importantly…completely SOLD OUT of all OhYeah! products!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the OhYeah! booth this year. We all appreciate your love and support for OhYeah! Until next time!

“Stay Fit-Stay Positive”

Boston Marathon Expo

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:15 pm

OhYeah! Nutrition attended the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo April 12th through April 14th, 2013. The Expo is the official Boston Marathon Expo and location of the number pick-up for all Boston Marathon runners.

The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon and one of the world’s most well-known racing events. Since 1897, the Boston Marathon has been held each year on Patriots’ Day. Runners from all over the world, both amateurs and professionals, compete in the marathon which attracts more than 500,000 spectators. There are 30,000 runners racing 26.2 miles through the historic city streets of Boston.

The John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo is known as the “Best Runner’s Expo in the country.” It is free and open to the public, with over 80,000 annual attendees. Consumers are able to visit the top running company booths like Brooks, Saucony, Adidas and more.

The OhYeah! booth was extremely busy all three days of the expo. OhYeah! provided thousands of samples of our Peanut Butter Crunch bars and our Chocolate Caramel Candies bars. Expo attendees were also treated to samples of OhYeah! shakes in Vanilla Crème and Chocolate Milkshake flavors.

OhYeah! Nutrition enjoyed meeting our existing fans and converting others into new fans. Most of the runners we met were extremely knowledgeable about health, fitness and nutrition, and they all loved the OhYeah! products. Using OhYeah! shakes and bars for recovery was a top priority amongst intense athletes and marathon runners. The main reaction we received after a person had sampled an OhYeah! bar was, “Wow! That tastes great!” Some went as far as to say our bars were “The best protein bar I’ve ever tasted” or “Wicked good!”

Unfortunately, this joyous occasion turned horrific. On the afternoon of the117th Boston Marathon, Monday, April 15th, two bombs struck near the finish line at 2:50pm. The explosions injured more than 140 people and caused 3 deaths. The cause or reason for this senseless act of terror and violence has not yet been established.

The Boston Athletic Association issued this statement:

“It is a sad day for the City of Boston, for the running community, and for all those who were here to enjoy the 117th running of the Boston Marathon. What was intended to be a day of joy and celebration quickly became a day in which running a marathon was of little importance…

Boston is strong. Boston is resilient. Boston is our home. And Boston has made us enormously proud in the past 24 hours. The Boston Marathon is a deeply held tradition – an integral part of the fabric and history of our community. We are committed to continuing that tradition with the running of the 118th Boston Marathon in 2014.”

OhYeah! Nutrition extends our deepest sympathies to all who were affected by this tragedy. We met so many wonderful people at the Expo, and we are devastated by this horrific event. We will continue to keep Boston in our thoughts and in our hearts. Stay strong, Boston.

Up & Close With New OhYeah! Athlete Jonathan Summerton – Team BMW Driver

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:09 pm

Jonathan Summerton - Team BMW

Jonathan Summerton Q&A:

Q: If you were not a driver for Team BMW, what would your occupation be?
A: I play tennis and have played for a while, but I also love soccer – if I could do something with either of those I would but it is a hard competition between those two. It’s difficult to say but probably something with business management or cooking.

Q: How does nutrition affect your driving skill?
A: In any sport, nutrition helps athletes to perform at the peak of their abilities. Training does a lot but nutrition allows you to perform to the best of your ability. Everyone knows in order to get a 6 pack its more about nutrition than training.

Q: Do you have much free time? What do you like to do on a day off?
A: I play tennis, and like to run. I usually do one of those, but I enjoy playing soccer if I can find people to play. I’m always active!

Q: What OhYeah! product is your favorite?
A: Oh, that’s hard. I’d have to say the Good Grab Chocolate & Caramel bar, but the 14oz. Chocolate Milkshake is a close second.

Q: Who would you say is your mentor career-wise?
A: I have many mentors in the sport. I always try to listen and learn from those with experience. If I had to say only one person it’d be Juan Pablo Montoya.

Q: What is your guilty food pleasure?
A: Everyone has one but mine is brownies! They’re hard to resist.

Q: When you’re driving your own car on a normal day, do you tend to speed?
A: To be honest, I get a lot of racing and speeding out on the track – but usually I tend to stick within 5 miles of an hour. Speeding is not safe on regular roads – not only for me but for those around.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: Always give your best. Never leave anything on the table. As long as you know you’ve done your best, you should feel satisfied.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of racing?
A: The adrenaline rush, from the speed to passing cars – it all gives me a rush.

Q: What is the hardest part of traveling all over the world & how do you overcome that challenge?
A: Living out of a suitcase is hard because you don’t know w hat gym you’re gonna have so training and eating right is the most difficult. It’s difficult picking the right food and at a race track it’s hard to eat healthy. I tend to bring my own food with me, it helps.

Q: What brought you to be sponsored by OhYeah! Nutrition?
A: I was drawn to it because it was unique and a new company that I wanted to know more about because I love the products. I enjoy the ability to develop a personal relationship with OhYeah! and it’s been a good experience.
